Position: Birthday Party Host
Overview:
Under the guidance of the Camp and Programs Director, the Birthday Party Host is responsible for the activities for children and guests during birthday parties.
Qualifications:
· Must be at least 16 years old; applicants under 18 must obtain NY working papers before starting
· Must be able to obtain or become certified in First Aid/CPR
· Ability to interact with children of all ages
· Customer service and strong communication skills are desirable
· Must be able to work weekends
Responsibilities:
· Sets up the party and gathers all supplies and equipment.
· Meets and greets parents, the birthday child and guests; coordinates with parents to make sure all plans are agreed upon.
· Punctually meets all scheduled parties, fully prepared to host, including equipment set-up.
· Hosts the birthday party, leads activities and serves refreshments.
· Cleans up after birthday parties, including taking out trash, sweeping floors, cleaning and putting away supplies, and organizing and putting away equipment.
· Enforces safety standards and facility operational rules for all individuals using the facilities.
· Effectively manages all incidents involving the birthday parties.
· Attends all required training sessions and scheduled staff meetings as requested.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
· Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb stairs, and reach throughout the workday
· Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 pounds
· Ability to work independently and respond quickly to operational needs throughout the department
