ABOUT THE ROLE
Join a healthcare AI engineering team building production systems for complex clinical workflows. You will take solutions from early problem discovery through deployment, with a focus on reliability, auditability, and meaningful outcomes for clinicians.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Scope and architect AI solutions for ambiguous, high-stakes clinical problems, from initial discussions through production specifications.
- Build and deploy retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, multi-agent workflows, and systems that extract structured information from clinical records.
- Integrate solutions with healthcare data standards and systems, including EHR, FHIR, and HL7.
- Monitor deployed systems, tune performance, and drive ongoing improvements.
- Identify opportunities to apply AI within customer workflows and accounts.
- Partner with product and clinical safety teams to incorporate feedback and work effectively with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 0 to 1 years of professional backend software development experience.
- Proficiency in Python and experience with infrastructure as code, such as Terraform or a similar tool.
- Understanding of prompt engineering.
- Ability to work through ambiguous problems, investigate systems in depth, and deliver production-ready solutions.
- Interest in clinical AI, healthcare workflows, and building systems where accuracy and auditability matter.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Base salary range: $120,000 to $190,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
LOCATION
On-site, five days per week in San Francisco, California.
