Are you passionate about sustainability, data, and driving meaningful change? We're looking for a Sustainability Data Governance & Assurance Lead to help strengthen how we manage, govern, and use sustainability information across Food & Nutrition.
In this role, you'll work closely with teams across Packaging, Sustainability, Quality, SQA, Regulatory Affairs, Digital, and R&D to ensure sustainability data is accurate, traceable, and ready to support business decisions, reporting requirements, and future regulations.
What are your key responsibilities?
Sustainability Data Governance & Analytics- Develop and maintain governance frameworks, standards, and controls for sustainability-related data and technical information.
- Ensure sustainability data is accurate, traceable, auditable, and fit for business decision-making.
- Design and maintain dashboards, reporting tools, and analytics that provide actionable insights to leadership and operational teams.
- Define and monitor sustainability KPIs and performance metrics.
- Improve reporting efficiency through automation, standardization, and enhanced data visualization.
- Partner with Digital and Data teams to strengthen master data governance, reporting structures, and system controls.
- Define business requirements for data models, reporting platforms, dashboards, and sustainability information management solutions.
Sustainability Process Assurance & Continuous Improvement- Design and continuously improve assurance frameworks that strengthen confidence in sustainability information and reporting.
- Assess sustainability-related processes, controls, and information flows to identify risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
- Lead data quality reviews, root cause investigations, and corrective actions related to governance and reporting issues.
- Establish scalable processes that improve consistency, traceability, and integrity of sustainability information.
- Drive standardization of sustainability data, documentation, and governance practices across Food & Nutrition.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence in sustainability information management.
Packaging Systems & Information Management- Develop deep understanding of Packaging Quality Management (PQM), packaging development processes, specification management, technical dossiers, and related systems.
- Ensure sustainability information is effectively connected across packaging, regulatory, quality, and sustainability processes.
- Maintain traceability between specifications, technical dossiers, sustainability metrics, reporting outputs, and supporting evidence.
- Partner with Packaging Developers, SQA, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Sustainability teams to improve information quality, accessibility, and reliability.
- dentify opportunities to improve system integration, data visibility, and information management practices.
Sustainability Reporting & Readiness- Support sustainability reporting, disclosure activities, technical dossiers, and regulatory submissions by ensuring underlying data and documentation are reliable and verifiable.
- Prepare sustainability data and supporting documentation for assurance activities, audits, and internal reviews.
- Monitor emerging sustainability reporting and data requirements and translate them into governance, process, and system improvements.
- Support business readiness by strengthening controls, traceability, and confidence in sustainability information.
Cross-Functional Leadership- Serve as the focal point for packaging sustainability data governance, process assurance, and information management across Food & Nutrition.
- Collaborate with Packaging, SQA, Quality, Sustainability, Regulatory Affairs, R&D, and Digital teams to embed governance and assurance principles into business processes.
- Build organizational capability through training, coaching, and best-practice sharing.
- Provide leadership with data-driven insights, assurance assessments, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
What are we looking for?You may come from Packaging Development, Sustainability, Quality Systems, SQA, Regulatory Affairs, Data Governance, Technical Information Management, or a similar technical discipline.
Ideally, you bring:- A degree in Packaging Science, Engineering, Food Science, Sustainability, Quality Management, Data Management, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Packaging, Sustainability, Quality Systems, Regulatory Affairs, Data Governance, or Technical Information Management.
- Experience designing governance frameworks, management systems, controls, or assurance programs.
- Strong knowledge of packaging development processes, specification management, PQM systems, and information governance.
- Experience with reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- A proven ability to improve processes, drive standardization, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Experience supporting audits, compliance programs, or assurance reviews.
- The ability to work with complex data and translate insights into meaningful business decisions.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives without direct authority.
