ABOUT ANDROMEDA

Andromeda is a market and infrastructure platform to buy, sell, and operate compute.

We believe demand for compute will grow exponentially. So fast that a handful of vertically integrated providers won't be able to scale across operations, capital, supply chains, and politics to serve it. The result is a massive wave of fragmentation, with AI factories of every shape and size coming to market to fill this demand. Our job is to enable all of that fragmented compute to flow through one platform, delivering reliable capacity to model builders, research labs, and inference providers when they need it. We believe every spare electron should be made productive for AI and we're building the platform that makes that possible.

We sit at the center of three forces:

- Companies that need reliable, high-performance compute fast

- A fragmented global supply of GPUs across hyperscalers, neoclouds, and independent data centers

- Capital, risk, and operational complexity that most teams are not equipped to manage

When we succeed, trillions of dollars of compute will flow through Andromeda. Builders get capacity when they need it. Providers get a reliable way to monetize, operate, and finance infrastructure at scale. Capital gets an easy way to deploy, hedge, and underwrite.

In five years, Andromeda won't just participate in the AI infrastructure market. We will shape it.

THE ROLE

You will build the software AI labs use to run their compute. A lab today runs clusters across several providers, each with its own login, queue, dashboards, and copy of the data. It also pays for GPUs that sit idle between runs. Your job is to let a customer run all of it as one fleet and see what every GPU is doing. Customers then sell idle GPU hours on our marketplace instead of paying for them unused.

This is a new product. You will build its first versions with our principal engineers and with the research and infrastructure teams at the customers who use it. Most of the work is backend, in Go against Kubernetes and Postgres, with a TypeScript console on top. The backend manages each customer's clusters. You carry a pager and talk to customers every week.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

- One fleet: A customer brings clusters from us, from other providers, or from their own sites under one login and one way to run jobs.

- Visibility: Customers see health, usage, spend, and alerts for every cluster in one place, so they stop building their own dashboards.

- Identity and access: Organizations, roles, and single sign-on (SSO) that work across every cluster a customer runs.

- Idle capacity: Customers see which GPUs sit unused, offer them on our marketplace, and get them back when they need them.

- What to build next: You hear the problem from the customer, decide what to build, and ship it.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- Impressive technical work you can go deep on, with impact in the world. That can take three years or twenty.

- Multi-tenant systems: You have built authorization, organizations, and data separation between tenants.

- Kubernetes fluency: You have built against the Kubernetes API, not only deployed to it.

- Telemetry pipelines: You have built the metrics, logs, or event pipelines behind dashboards and alerts people act on.

- Backend depth: You have shipped production services in Go, or you have the systems background to ship production Go within your first month.

- Enough front end to ship: You build the front end for each feature you own.

- Production on-call experience: You have carried a pager for a system customers depend on, and made it quieter afterward.

NOT A FIT

- Front end only: Most of this role is backend and infrastructure.

- You need a spec: Requirements here arrive as a customer problem and a rough sketch.

- You want a mature product: We have not shipped the first version yet.

- You want to manage: This is an IC role.

STRONG CANDIDATES MAY HAVE

- ML or HPC infrastructure: Training clusters, Slurm, or job schedulers, from the operator's or the researcher's side.

- Cloud consoles or developer platforms: Products where the user is an engineer running real workloads.

- Enterprise identity: SSO, SCIM, and identity provider integrations.

- Data movement: Syncing or replicating large datasets across clusters or regions.

WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT HERE

- You build the first version of the product AI labs will use to run their compute.

- We are a unicorn, and our customers are leading AI labs and data centers in one of the fastest-growing markets on earth.

- Small senior team, a seat at the table with leadership, and impact measured in days, not quarters.

- Competitive pay and meaningful equity, plus comprehensive benefits for you and your dependents, including healthcare, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k), and unlimited PTO.
