About the role
The System Support and Training Officer reports to the Senior Data Support Specialist (System). The position will play an important role in building the organisation's digital literacy and its capacity to use ActionStep more effectively. The key objective of this role is to improve VALS' capability in the use of ActionStep.
In this role you will:
- Provide responsive, day-to-day guidance to staff on service-related data entry and system use.
- Deliver face-to-face training and refreshers for individuals and teams across Victorian sites.
- Assist in developing and updating practical training and guidance materials to support accurate, complete data entry in Actionstep.
- Support a Community of Practice around the use of the ActionStep system.
- Support the Data Management team with system improvements in ActionStep based on user feedback.
- Escalate complex queries and system issues to the Data Management Team, as required.
About You

You will ideally bring:
- Significant experience with Client Management Systems, preferably Actionstep.
- Experience in training and supporting frontline staff in collecting service delivery-related data, preferably in a not-for-profit setting.
- Strong problem solving or troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of the issues confronting Aboriginal people in relation to the delivery of legal services and associated non-legal needs (desirable).
- Cultural awareness in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Mandatory Requirements
To be successful, you will need:
- A copy of your current Employee Working with Children Check card
- A copy of your current Victorian Driver's License
- You will be required to complete a current Criminal History Police Check
- Proof of rights to work in Australia, i.e., a copy of an Australian Passport, Birth Certificate, or Immigration VISA documentation
- Copies of any certificates or degrees relevant to this role
