Quality Control Inspector – Structural Steel

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and support fitters, welders, and fabrication personnel in daily shop operations.

- Assign tasks and balance workloads to meet production schedules and delivery deadlines.

- Provide technical guidance on fit-up, welding, layout, and blueprint interpretation.

- Troubleshoot fabrication and production issues.

- Monitor workflow and communicate production updates or concerns to leadership.

- Enforce safety procedures, quality standards, and shop policies.

- Coordinate with maintenance teams to minimize equipment downtime.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

- Support employee training, onboarding, and performance development.

- Work with Quality Control to ensure fabrication meets required standards.

- Assist with dimensional checks, inspections, and documentation.

- Perform additional shop leadership duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 3 years of experience leading or supervising structural steel fabrication teams.

- Strong knowledge of welding, fit-up, layout, and structural steel fabrication.

- Experience operating or working with CNC fabrication equipment and shop machinery.

- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints.

- Understanding of safety procedures, quality standards, and production workflows.

- Experience with Tekla EPM/GO preferred.

- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work overtime, weekends, or flexible schedules as production demands require.
