Senior Systems Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, supporting and improving customer environments across Microsoft 365 and Azure, Windows Server infrastructure, networking, firewalls and connectivity, cybersecurity and compliance initiatives, backup, recovery and business continuity solutions, virtualisation and cloud platforms, and managed service operations and project delivery. You will serve as a technical escalation point for complex issues, mentor other engineers, and work closely with clients to deliver practical technology outcomes.

Key responsibilities

- Design and implement secure, scalable IT solutions.

- Lead technical projects from planning through to delivery.

- Provide Level 3 support and advanced troubleshooting.

- Identify risks, vulnerabilities and improvement opportunities.

- Assist with cybersecurity, Essential Eight and ISO 27001 aligned initiatives.

- Maintain technical documentation and standards.

- Collaborate with vendors, clients and internal teams.

- Provide strategic technology guidance to customers.

- Contribute to continual improvement of Kodo's service offerings.

About you

- 5+ years' experience in a senior engineering or infrastructure role.

- Microsoft certifications in Azure, Microsoft 365, or Security.

- Strong Microsoft 365 administration experience.

- Strong Azure experience including Entra ID, Intune and cloud services.

- Experience supporting Windows Server environments.

- Experience with networking, firewalls and security technologies.

- Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions.

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Experience in AI use and governance.

- Excellent written and verbal communication.
