ABOUT THE ROLE

Join a small team at a growth-stage space technology company as its first dedicated electrical engineer. You will prepare a satellite flight computer for launch and help develop GPU compute electronics for in-orbit AI inference.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Design and own the flight computer for a satellite mission, with this as the primary focus during your first 90 days.

- Build prototypes, bring up hardware, and debug systems in the Los Angeles lab alongside engineering leadership.

- Work with manufacturing partners to design electronics and compute systems for a full-scale satellite.

- Shape high-speed interconnect decisions, including NVLink and SerDes, and evaluate photonics and optical interconnects.

- Develop payload firmware and platform software as needed.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- Experience ranging from early-career to 15 years in electrical or computer engineering, with at least one year at a high-growth startup or experience in a zero-to-one environment.

- End-to-end experience designing custom boards or system boards, including schematics, high-speed PCB layout, hardware bring-up, and debugging.

- Knowledge of high-speed digital design, signal integrity, and power integrity.

- A degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

- Startup experience; aerospace prime or government contractor experience may complement this background.

- Experience with GPUs, accelerators, SoCs, or large ASICs is useful, as is familiarity with photonics, optical interconnects, networking, or space and satellite hardware.

- Skills in schematic capture, embedded C/C++, firmware, Linux, and Python are relevant.

- Must be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder and willing to work on-site five days per week.
