Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with development and quality assurance teams to understand product requirements and develop test plans.
Design, develop and execute automated API and service-level tests for .NET backend services, including contract testing and mocking of downstream dependencies.
• Validate end-to-end workflows across layers, confirming that UI actions trigger the correct backend processing, data is persisted correctly in SQL Server, and results surface accurately in the UI.
• Test asynchronous, event-driven, and batch processes on AWS (e.g., Lambda, SQS/SNS, scheduled jobs), including retries, failure handling, and idempotency.
• Write SQL queries to validate data integrity, transformations, and state changes in SQL Server.
• Create and execute automated and manual test cases for SaaS based web applications.
• Identify and report bugs and work with development teams to resolve them.
• Develop and maintain test automation scripts using modern JavaScript based end-to-end automation tools.
• Contribute towards enhancing and maintaining the automation framework.
• Write SQL queries to validate data integrity, transformations, and state changes in SQL Server.
• Design and maintain test data strategies using synthetic data, ensuring PHI is never used outside approved environments.
• Use logs and monitoring (e.g., CloudWatch) to diagnose failures and verify backend behavior.
• Perform performance, load, and stress testing of APIs and backend services using tools such as k6, JMeter, or NBomber.
• Work with development teams to integrate automated tests into our continuous integration and deployment processes.
• Stay current on testing tools, frameworks, and methodologies, and recommend process improvements.
• Own the test automation strategy and roadmap, determining what gets automated, when, and why.
• Mentor junior automation engineers and conduct code reviews on test automation to grow team capabilities.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve testing velocity and reduce release cycles.
• Define and maintain automation with the best practices and standards across the engineering team.
• Partner with product and engineering leadership to identify testing gaps and compliance risks (including HIPAA and PHI handling) in healthcare workflows.
• Implement test failure analysis, including AI-assisted tooling, to quickly identify root causes (flaky network calls, timing issues, data state problems) and reduce manual triage overhead.
• Leverage AI-driven test case generation from requirements and API specifications to identify edge cases and improve coverage, particularly for regulatory and compliance workflows.
• Use automated tooling to establish performance baselines and flag performance regressions across builds before they reach production.
• Utilize coverage gap identification tools to analyze untested code paths and ensure comprehensive testing, critical for healthcare compliance and data integrity.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on testing and test automation of SaaS based web applications and backend services.
• Strong programming skills in C# and JavaScript/TypeScript, with experience in .NET test frameworks such as NUnit, xUnit, or MSTest.
• Experience with modern JavaScript based end to end automation tools such as Cypress, CodeceptJS, and Playwright.
• Experience with API testing tools and frameworks like Postman, RestSharp, or Pact (contract testing).
• Strong SQL skills, with hands-on experience validating data in SQL Server.
• Experience testing services and workflows on AWS (e.g., Lambda, SQS/SNS, S3, CloudWatch).
• Experience testing asynchronous, event-driven, or batch processing systems.
• Experience with agile development methodologies and continuous integration and deployment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Self-starter and self-motivated with the proven ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
• Works effectively with cross-functional teams to build a trusted partnership.
• Healthcare experience, including familiarity with HIPAA and working with PHI, is highly preferred.
