Supply Excellence Manager
Mars · USA-Illinois-Burr Ridge, United States
Job Description:
The Plant Supply Excellence Manager (MSE) is responsible for driving overall Supply/Operational Excellence and its foundations for the plant and its business platforms. This role serves as a change agent and coach for the Plant Director, their leadership teams, and the extended leadership network, focusing on effective deployment and execution. Success will be measured by the site's results in terms of operational performance improvements, capability building, and demonstration of desired behaviors, assessed through the MSE maturity assessment.
A second, but equally important, set of measures is related to cost savings, waste reduction, and asset performance achieved through the effective application of MSE systems and tools at the plant. In small operations or sites, the role could also oversee Digital Manufacturing, Education & Training, and Industrial Engineering within the plant.
This role also holds an extended responsibility for network collaboration through participation in MSE Communities of Practice (COPs), sharing best practices, and contributing to the collective advancement of MSE maturity across plants. The Plant Supply Excellence Manager contributes actively to COP discussions, exchanges learnings, and supports the standardization of effective methodologies to strengthen overall performance across the network.
There is a strong dotted line to the MSE Director to maximize the impact from this role across the extended network. Additionally, the role works in close collaboration with the Regional Senior MSE Coach and the Regional MSE Team to ensure alignment between plant initiatives and regional strategies. This partnership enables effective knowledge sharing, consistency in methodology deployment, and mutual capability building across sites. The Plant Supply Excellence Manager is expected to actively participate in regional forums, contribute to the broader MSE learning agenda, and leverage best practices to accelerate maturity and performance across the network.
