ABOUT THE ROLE
Join an established bankruptcy and commercial litigation practice as a debtor-side bankruptcy litigator. You will take on a substantial caseload and help maintain client relationships as a senior partner transitions out of the practice.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead debtor-side bankruptcy litigation, including adversary proceedings, contested matters, and related disputes.
- Manage matters from case strategy through courtroom advocacy and resolution.
- Work collaboratively with bankruptcy partners and the firm's commercial litigation group.
- Assume responsibility for ongoing matters and client relationships as part of a practice succession.
- Develop client relationships and contribute to business development and cross-practice referrals.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 8 to 15 years of bankruptcy litigation experience, with a focus on representing debtors.
- Experience with Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 matters, adversary proceedings, contested matters, and bankruptcy court hearings.
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active admission to the New York bar.
- Strong working knowledge of the Bankruptcy Code and Rules, along with experience using Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, ECF, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage a practice autonomously, work collaboratively, and steward client relationships through a partner transition.
- A portable bankruptcy practice and business development experience are valued.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Base salary range: $275,000 to $400,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
