Salary Range\: $60,000 - $70,000

Position Summary

The IT Technical Analyst 1 is a member of Information Technology Services’ Administrative Applications and Data Support team. The incumbent will work on mission-critical enterprise applications including our application for Continuing Education and the ERP Document Management tool supporting faculty, staff and students. This role works closely with the University's Collaboration Center for stakeholders, subject matter experts, and end users as well as working with the application vendors, infrastructure teams and DBAs.

As part of supporting these applications, this role is responsible for gathering requirements, data analysis, and supporting development changes to improve business processes. We are specifically looking for someone that can use SQL against an Oracle database and doing some light development using python, JavaScript, html or other similar tools. The role manages applications hosted across on-premises data centers and cloud environments. For the on-prem applications, the person would work with the team to maintain and upgrade as needed the Windows and Linux Operating Systems. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Technology, or related field

* At least 2 years of IT related experience

* Experience with SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks, and Microsoft Power Apps

* Experience with using Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar database technologies

* Experience developing with Python or similar tools

* An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities

* Ability to utilize critical thinking to assist with a solution to solve problems

* Familiarity with Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, OneDrive, and SharePoint

* Ability to create, update, prioritize, document, and close support tickets

* Ability to solve problems to find logical fixes using the tools available

* Know how to navigate Windows Server and Linux servers operating systems to support application servers

* Familiarity with installing, configuring, upgrading and troubleshooting applications

* Basic understanding of user accounts, password resets, permissions, groups, and account management

* Strong Communication skills are needed to interact with the users and other team members.

* Ability to work nights and/or weekends, if necessary

Preferred Skills and Abilities

* Familiarity with Higher Education application support/development
