About Sunrise Group

Sunrise Group is building the future of sleep health by combining breakthrough technology with expert care. We started in 2015 with a straightforward idea: sleep diagnosis should happen in the comfort of your own home, not in a hospital. To make that possible, we created a first-of-its-kind chin sensor, carefully validated through clinical research, reviewed by leading sleep experts, and cleared by the FDA.

Since then, Sunrise Group has grown from a single innovation into a complete sleep health company. We now design advanced diagnostic and treatment solutions, and we deliver care directly to patients through Dreem Health, our digital sleep clinic. By serving patients in all 50 states with reimbursed care, we are making sleep treatment more accessible, more personal, and much simpler than it has ever been.

Your Opportunity

As an R&D Engineer, you’ll help shape the next generation of Sunrise medical devices, from electronics and firmware to mechanics, while growing the team’s expertise in signals and clinical data over time.

Your work will directly improve how patients are diagnosed and treated at home.

Device development

- Contribute to the design and evolution of our devices: electronics, embedded firmware, mechanical integration

- Work with partner design offices: understand the constraints, translate them into clear requirements and challenge the deliverables

- Help prepare pilot series and units for clinical studies

Testing and validation

- Design, build and run measurement benches and test campaigns

- Analyze results, find root causes and propose corrections

- Own specific testing topics, with accountability for the outcome

Signals and clinical link

- Build your expertise in the signals our devices capture (mandibular movement, PPG, SpO₂) and their physiological interpretation

- Join exam reviews and exchanges with physician users, first observing, then contributing

Quality and regulatory

- Work within our quality system (ISO 13485, design controls) and contribute to EU MDR and FDA files

Support and growth

- Direct mentorship from a senior engineer

- Structured development plan with formal reviews at 6 and 12 months

- A path from hardware development to signal analysis, physiology and direct contact with physician users

What You Bring

- Master’s in engineering (industrial or civil): electronics, electromechanics, biomedical or equivalent

- 0 to 3 years of experience

- Strong foundations in electronics and embedded systems, with a whole-product mindset (electronics, firmware, mechanics) rather than a focus on a single subset

- Comfort with measurement, instrumentation and test data

- Curiosity, autonomy and resourcefulness: you learn fast on new topics, in an environment where not everything is written yet

- Fluent in French and English (technical documentation, US partners and clinical teams)

- Regular presence in our offices

What Makes You Stand Out

- First experience (internship, thesis or job) in medical devices, biotech or electronics

- Exposure to signal processing, physiological signals or biomedical engineering

- Python or Matlab for measurement data analysis

- Hands-on personal or academic projects in electronics, prototyping or instrumentation
