Job Title: Security Officer
Location: Wilton, CT
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:00 PM (8-hour shift)
Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour
Environment: Corporate office setting
Position Summary
We’re looking for a professional Security Officer to provide safety and security at a corporate client site in Wilton, CT. In this role, you’ll help protect employees, visitors, and property, and support a safe, professional work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Access Control & Reception Support
- Monitor entry and exit points to the building.
- Verify badges/IDs for employees, visitors, and contractors.
- Manage visitor sign-in/sign-out and issue temporary badges.
Patrols & Safety Checks
- Conduct regular interior and perimeter patrols of the corporate facility.
- Check doors, loading areas, parking lots, and common spaces for security or safety issues.
- Identify and report hazards or unsafe conditions in line with health and safety standards (source: Group Health and Safety Policy).
Incident Response & Reporting
- Respond to alarms, disturbances, and safety concerns.
- De-escalate situations when possible and contact emergency services or site management when needed.
- Complete clear, timely incident and daily activity reports.
Customer Service
- Provide courteous assistance to employees and visitors.
- Offer directions and basic information about site procedures.
- Represent the client and Securitas with a calm, professional, and helpful attitude.
Compliance & Procedures
- Follow all site-specific post orders/assignment instructions (source: Group Health and Safety Policy).
- Comply with company policies, health and safety rules, and any applicable local regulations.
- Participate in required training and refreshers to maintain skills and qualifications (source: Group Health and Safety Policy).
Qualifications
- Prior security, military, law enforcement, or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong observation, communication, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, and conduct patrols for extended periods.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must meet any state/local licensing or registration requirements for security officers, if applicable.
- Must be able to pass background screening in line with company standards.
