About the Position

Our client is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee and lead construction operations for a growing commercial concrete organization.

This leadership position will oversee day-to-day operations while providing direction, accountability, and support to a team of Project Managers and Field Superintendents. The Operations Manager will play a critical role in ensuring commercial concrete projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, collaborative construction leader who understands commercial concrete operations and can effectively manage people, projects, resources, clients, subcontractors, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee and coordinate day-to-day construction operations, including project, resource, and employee management.

- Lead and hold Project Managers and Field Superintendents accountable for successful project execution.

- Ensure commercial concrete projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to established quality standards.

- Build productive and lasting relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, design teams, and internal project personnel.

- Partner with company safety leadership to promote and maintain a strong Safety for Life culture.

- Communicate safety expectations and company values to employees, subcontractors, and trade partners.

- Provide proactive leadership and support in project planning, execution, and problem resolution.

- Identify and resolve operational challenges using sound judgment and a resourceful, solutions-oriented approach.

- Leverage technology to improve communication, project visibility, efficiency, and the overall client experience.

- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

- Communicate project plans effectively, motivate teams, and ensure organizational objectives are achieved.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.

- 8–10+ years of commercial construction experience in an Operations Manager, Senior Project Manager, or comparable leadership role.

- 6+ years of recent commercial concrete construction experience, including projects valued at $2M+.

- Strong technical knowledge of commercial building construction means, methods, and systems.

- Comprehensive understanding of construction trades, work disciplines, project delivery, and field operations.

- Ability to read, interpret, and understand construction plans, contracts, specifications, and other project documents.

- Proven leadership ability with experience managing and developing Project Managers, Superintendents, and other construction personnel.

- Ability to establish accountability while maintaining a collaborative and positive team environment.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize competing objectives and deadlines.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a high level of integrity and professionalism.

- Experience with Procore or similar construction management platforms preferred.

- Knowledge of On-Screen Takeoff and Quick Bid

estimating systems is a plus.

- Adaptable and comfortable learning and implementing new technology solutions.
