Role Overview
We are seeking a Software Developer to join our Unified Storage Layer (USL) Platform team and contribute to the development of Intelerad's cloud storage solution for its cloud applications. In this role, you will design and deliver the storage services that support customers moving from traditional Intelerad deployments to our cloud platform. You will work within a cross-functional Agile team, taking full ownership of the feature development lifecycle and contributing to a platform that stores and serves medical imaging at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain features for the Unified Storage Layer, taking full ownership from scoping through delivery — ensuring solutions are tested, documented, and meet sprint commitments.
- Translate complex support tickets and stakeholder requirements into well-engineered technical solutions, proactively identifying and resolving issues across the storage layer and its cloud infrastructure.
- Contribute to code quality through thorough pull request reviews and comprehensive documentation, supporting team-wide standards and knowledge sharing.
- Build and maintain the cloud infrastructure behind USL, including Kubernetes cluster design, automated provisioning with Terraform, AWS component tuning, and CI/CD pipeline management.
- Work across technologies, codebases, and cloud-native services, identifying opportunities for improvement and taking initiative to implement them within an Agile/Scrum workflow.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of professional commercial software development experience, or equivalent experience with a demonstrable track record of delivering production-quality software
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (e.g., EKS, RDS, S3, IAM) and Kubernetes, including infrastructure provisioning with Terraform
- Proven ability to work independently in a distributed team environment, managing priorities and delivering outcomes with minimal oversight
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex, long-term goals into well-scoped, deliverable increments
- Comfort working across multiple languages, frameworks, and problem domains as business needs evolve
Preferred Qualifications & Special Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Development experience Kotlin or another similar JVM language
- Java, Spring Boot
- REST API and PostgreSQL database development expertise
- Container orchestration with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm
- Git/GitHub version control experience and familiarity with unit and integration testing best practices.
- Experience with Linux/Unix environments, shell scripting, and command-line tooling
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology in fast-paced development environments
- Background in healthcare technology: DICOM, HL7, medical imaging, or radiology workflow understanding
- Knowledge of IT security & authentication
- Aptitude with design & architecture
