General Counsel | Tallahassee, FL

Summary function: Provides administrative and clerical assistance to the office of the General Counsel.

Required minimum education: High School Diploma (or its equivalency).

Required minimum professional work experience: One (1) year administrative office experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responds to inquiries via telephone, emails, and letters regarding division/department programs, including the CSF, qualifying providers, and public records.

Provides administrative assistance and support to assigned division/department programs and staff.

Enters public records requests in TFB application; tracks completion; reviews public records queue for timely completion and sends reminders to staff as needed; redacts as necessary; and interacts regularly with the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel about satisfying requests.

Opens and reviews new CSF claim files, generates letters to claimants and respondents, conducts docket searches to determine if any legal services were performed by respondents, reviews lawyer regulation database for relevant documentation, and notifies supervisor and Director/Deputy General Counsel that files are ready for review.

Monitor dedicated qualifying provider email and process incoming annual reports and new attorney registrations. Confirm eligibility of participating attorneys, maintain qualifying provider webpage including the online list of qualifying providers with current annual reports. Coordinate the annual reporting renewal process.

Performs other duties as assigned.
