We are currently recruiting for a General Service Assistant to join our team in Thirsk, YO7 3ER. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and customer-focused individual to become part of a busy catering operation, supporting food service delivery while helping to maintain high standards across customer and catering areas.

What you'll be doing
- Serving food and beverages to customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Operating tills and handling customer payments accurately
- Stocking up, rotating stock, facing up items, and carrying out spot cleaning duties
- Setting up food service counters and ensuring all service areas are well presented
- Cleaning front and back-of-house areas to maintain high hygiene standards
- Supporting kitchen and service teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience
- Preparing public-facing areas ready for service
- Undertaking relevant training and working towards Food Hygiene Level 2 and Health & Safety Level 2 qualifications
- Working closely with the General Manager and wider team to support day-to-day operations
About you
- Customer service or food service experience is advantageous, but not essential as full training will be provided
- Must be aged 18 or over
- Friendly and professional approach with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Reliable and flexible approach to work
Important Requirements
- Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK and have lived in the UK for 3 years or more to satisfy security requirements
- Due to the location of the site and limited public transport links, a reliable mode of transport is essential
