Position Title: Data & Analytics Engineer

Position Overview:

We're looking for a Data & Analytics Engineer to strengthen our data pipeline, integration, automation, and business intelligence support capabilities. This is a hybrid role: part of the time is spent on backend engineering (pipeline backup, systems integration, automation, technical support for an internal AI-powered analytics platform), and part is spent front-facing — serving as a point of contact for stakeholders across the organization who have questions about, or requests for, our Power BI reporting environment. It's a role suited to someone who's equally comfortable writing code and talking through requirements with a non-technical stakeholder.

Objectives & Responsibilities:

- Support and help maintain our cloud-based data pipeline infrastructure (Python/Airflow orchestration into BigQuery), with enough depth to provide reliable coverage during team absences or periods of high demand.

- Design, build, and maintain workflow automations (e.g., using iPaaS tools like Make) that connect task management, product information, and other business systems — translating business processes into reliable, API-driven integrations rather than relying on platform-specific expertise.

- Partner on the technical infrastructure behind an internal AI-powered analytics assistant: working in a modern IDE (VS Code), managing code via Git/GitHub, building and maintaining CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions or similar), and handling authentication/secrets management for cloud services.

- Build and maintain integrations that synchronize product and item data between a task management system, a product information management (PIM) platform, and our ERP (Microsoft Business Central) — including partnering with our ERP team to define and build the necessary API endpoints.

- Support onboarding of new external data sources (e.g., manufacturer/supplier data feeds) into our reporting environment, including data validation and quality checks before integration.

- Act as a front-line point of contact for incoming Power BI/reporting requests from across the organization: triaging questions, troubleshooting existing reports and tools, and gathering requirements for new capabilities — handling straightforward requests and implementation directly, and scoping/handing off more complex work to the right teammate.

- Identify and propose further automation or reliability improvements across the data, integration, and reporting stack as opportunities arise.

Skills & Qualifications:

- Proficiency in Python for scripting, data processing, and automation.

- Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow or equivalent) and cloud data warehouses (BigQuery or equivalent), including SQL proficiency.

- Experience with iPaaS/workflow automation platforms (Make, Zapier, Workato, or similar) — specific platform experience less important than a strong grasp of REST APIs, webhooks, and authentication patterns (OAuth, API keys) needed to connect disparate systems.

- Working knowledge of Power BI, including report/dashboard development and troubleshooting — enough to both build and support existing tools, not just consume them.

- Strong communication skills and comfort engaging directly with stakeholders across the organization to understand needs, set expectations, and translate requests into technical requirements.

- Working knowledge of Git/GitHub and CI/CD concepts (GitHub Actions or similar).

- Comfort with cloud authentication and secrets management practices.

- Strong data validation and quality-assurance instincts — comfortable reconciling and vetting data from external sources.

- Ability to work independently, prioritize across competing requests, learn new tools/platforms quickly, and partner effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
