Job Description SummaryWe are looking for a Field Engineer specialized in High Voltage / Gas-Insulated Switchgear Equipment to support the installation, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting of industrial electrical systems.
The role is highly field-oriented and requires strong technical expertise in electrical systems, with the ability to work closely with engineering teams, contractors, suppliers and customers.
Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities
- Perform electrical commissioning activities on industrial installations.
- Execute inspections, testing, troubleshooting and functional validation of electrical equipment.
- Support energization, start-up and performance testing activities.
- Analyze technical issues and provide effective solutions during commissioning phases.
- Perform electrical measurements, fault finding and diagnostics.
- Review technical documentation, drawings, test procedures and commissioning reports.
- Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors and equipment suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and quality requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering or equivalent technical background.
- Experience in electrical substations, maintenance or industrial field service.
- Good knowledge of electrical systems: HV distribution, protection systems, transformers, switchgear or industrial equipment.
- Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
- Experience with troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Strong safety awareness and experience working in industrial environments.
- Ability to work independently on site and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Nice to have
- Experience with GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) equipment.
- Experience with power plants, industrial projects, renewable energy, oil & gas or heavy industry.
- Knowledge of commissioning standards and testing procedures.
- Experience with international projects.
Languages
- English required.
- French and/or Dutch are an advantage.
