Contract Opportunity | NV1 Clearance Required

Paxus is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to support a complex, high-priority technology capability program within a secure Commonwealth Government environment.

This is an opportunity to contribute to a significant system-of-systems initiative, working across requirements engineering, systems architecture, cloud and hybrid infrastructure design, and technical preparation for future capability delivery.

The program is moving from capability definition into acquisition and delivery preparation, providing an opportunity to help shape the technical foundations of a complex operational environment.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Working alongside engineering, architecture and capability delivery teams, you'll support the development of system requirements, technical designs and engineering documentation needed to progress the program towards implementation.

The role requires someone who understands the systems engineering lifecycle and can translate complex operational requirements into clear, traceable technical specifications and practical design outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Undertake system and subsystem requirements analysis, decomposition and traceability.

- Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including Functional and Performance Specifications (FPS), System and Subsystem Design Descriptions (SSDDs), high-level designs and detailed designs.

- Support systems architecture development, interface definition and integration planning.

- Contribute to technical design activities across cloud and hybrid-hosted environments.

- Maintain alignment between operational requirements, system specifications and verification and validation activities.

- Support technical procurement documentation, including Statements of Requirement and Statements of Work.

- Participate in technical reviews, architecture assessments and engineering assurance activities.

- Work with technical teams and stakeholders to resolve requirements, design and integration challenges.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- Strong systems engineering experience, particularly in requirements development, management and technical documentation.

- Demonstrated experience undertaking requirements analysis and system design within cloud or hybrid environments.

- Experience developing system specifications, engineering artefacts and requirements traceability documentation.

- Sound understanding of systems engineering methodologies, technical design processes and verification and validation.

- Familiarity with complex systems architectures, interoperability requirements and engineering governance.

- Strong analytical, technical writing and stakeholder engagement skills.

HIGHLY DESIRABLE

- Experience with complex operational, intelligence or mission-support systems.

- Experience using DOORS, DOORS Next (DNG) or similar requirements management tools.

- Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies and modelling tools.

- An accredited Australian engineering degree or equivalent systems engineering qualification.

- Experience supporting complex Commonwealth capability development, acquisition or sustainment programs.

SECURITY CLEARANCE

Applicants must hold a current AGSVA NV1 security clearance as a minimum. NV2 clearance is highly desirable.
