ABOUT THE ROLE
Join an early-stage AI company as its first engineering hire, building coding reinforcement learning environments and AI agents for enterprise use. You will work closely with the founders on technical direction and help lead the engineering team as it grows.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build high-quality reinforcement learning environments and tasks using proprietary voice and enterprise datasets.
- Build and deploy AI agents for enterprise customers.
- Partner with the founders on technical direction and the engineering roadmap.
- Lead the engineering team as it grows, shipping quickly while maintaining a high quality bar.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- At least 3 years of experience in reinforcement learning or AI agent development, or 6 to 12 months building RL environments or data at a human data company as a recent graduate.
- Experience building coding reinforcement learning environments at an RL or human data company, and a track record of shipping AI agents into production.
- Strong reinforcement learning fundamentals and daily use of AI-native coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or comparable tools.
- Full-stack experience with TypeScript and AWS; mobile development experience with iOS, Swift, or React Native is also useful.
- A demonstrated record of shipping products at startup pace.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship and willing to relocate to San Francisco for a fully in-person, 5.5-day work week.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Base salary is $125,000 to $200,000 annually. OTE (on-target earnings, base plus variable) is $225,000 to $400,000. Visa sponsorship is not available.
