Working Student - Demand and Procurement Planning (m/f/d)
KLARSTEIN · Berlin, Germany
Klarstein has been designing, producing, and selling products in the areas of kitchen appliances, garden & living, sports and consumer electronics since 2005 and is now one of Europe’s largest digital companies including around 400 employees around the globe. We love brands and products!
As Working Student in Demand and Procurement Planning, you'll work alongside an experienced team member through the full cycle in our Planning Hub, the system that now drives our sales and procurement decisions. On the sales side, you'll check the forecast article by article. On the procurement side, you'll turn it into an order proposal: netting demand against stock and open orders and preparing the quantities and dates our Hong Kong team places with suppliers. Every order proposal is a real commitment, so you'll be close to business decisions from early on, with someone experienced reviewing your work rather than redoing it.
What you will do:
- Validate the monthly sales plan at article, channel and country level, checking the forecast against what actually sold, flagging where the curve looks wrong and preparing the evidence a planner needs to accept or override a number
- Prepare and maintain the sales plan inputs in the Planning Hub, including the override and seasonality tables
- Reconcile planned demand against current stock and open purchase orders, and flag articles that are short or over-supplied
- Support the preparation of supplier order proposals and the related cash-out view (quantities, delivery dates, payment terms and deposits)
- Maintain supplier and article master data used by the Hub and investigate mismatches between SAP, the data warehouse and the planning files
- Present your shortage and findings in the weekly review with planners and category managers
What we are looking for:
- Enrolled student, preferably in a Master’s programme, ideally in business administration, supply chain/logistics, industrial engineering, economics, data science or information systems. Other backgrounds are welcome if you can show you work comfortably with data (e.g. a statistics-heavy social science degree or a personal data project)
- Strong logical thinking - when a plan doesn't reconcile, you reason your way to the cause rather than just reporting that something is wrong
- Strong analytical skills and confidence working with large data sets in Excel
- Fluent written and spoken English. Our team works across Berlin and Hong Kong
- You learn new systems and tools quickly
- A proactive working style. You ask early rather than guess, organise your own work across a part-time week and share progress without being chased, including when something isn't finished or doesn't look right
- Availability for 20 hours per week, with three fixed office days in Berlin (ideally Tuesday to Thursday) and the remaining hours flexible
Nice to have:
- Practical experience with AI tools such as Claude
- Basic knowledge of Power BI, SQL or Python
- Any exposure to SAP S/4HANA
- Any exposure to supply chain or e-commerce
- Conversational German
What we offer:
- Real responsibility on live plans that drive purchase orders
- A view of the full chain from sales forecast to supplier order to cash-out
- Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA, Azure Synapse, Power BI and AI tooling
- An international team across Berlin and Hong Kong
- Reduced hours during exam periods by agreement
- An intended duration of 6 months with the option to extend
- 30% discount on our products
- A bright, modern, dog-friendly office right on the Spree in Friedrichshain - rooftop views included
- Team breakfast every two weeks, where we actually talk, not just stand-up updates
- Support by a team of highly skilled and dedicated colleagues who celebrate successes together at our company events
