Technical Program/Project Manager | Federal GovernmentAbout the Opportunity- Lead a critical, multi-year Identity and Access Management Modernisation (IAMM) initiative driving a transition toward modern cloud-ready architecture and Zero Trust security principles.
- Partner with multidisciplinary teams, internal stakeholders, and external service providers to deliver cutting-edge identity governance, modern authentication, and enhanced cyber security across a complex Federal Government environment.
Role & Responsibilities- Lead end-to-end project planning, governance, and delivery across discovery, architecture design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational handover.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, integrated schedules, delivery roadmaps, budget forecasts, and RAID registers.
- Coordinate diverse workstreams across solution architecture, engineering, cyber security, business analysis, change management, and operational readiness.
- Manage vendor performance, contract deliverables, procurement activities, and multi-vendor relationships to ensure alignment with acceptance criteria.
- Drive technical, security, and release assurance milestones, supporting SSP/SRMP development, IRAP assessments, UAT, and Change Advisory Board (CAB) approvals.
- Facilitate cutover, hyper-care, and transition-to-BAU processes, ensuring complete knowledge transfer and sustainable operating arrangements.
Skills & ExperienceTo be successful in this position, you will ideally bring:
- Technical Toolkit: Strong familiarity with Identity and Access Management (IAM), Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), legacy identity frameworks (MIM/AD FS), Single Sign-On (SSO), and Zero Trust security architectures.
- Experience: Proven track record managing complex ICT transformation or cyber security projects within the Australian Federal Government (including working in PROTECTED environments).
- Core Capabilities: Exceptional stakeholder management, vendor/contract oversight, integrated scheduling, and clear executive reporting capabilities.
- Certifications: Recognized project management credentials such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP, Agile Project Management, or equivalent.
Eligibility & Clearance Requirements- Security Clearance: Due to the nature of this environment, candidates must hold a current Baseline security clearance (or higher) and be an Australian Citizen.
