About the client

Our client is a leading German IT partner for small and mid-sized businesses across Europe. They help customers solve their technology challenges and make their business models fit for the future, through sovereign IT solutions and their own certified AI data centres.

Their team of specialists combines industry knowledge with technical depth. Core areas include public and private cloud, operating business-critical applications on Microsoft and SAP technologies, artificial intelligence and IT security. Customers come from retail, healthcare, logistics, energy and manufacturing.

In Cluj-Napoca they are building a team of 10–15 people. It is small enough that everyone knows your name, with direct access to your team lead and to German and international customers.

About the role

The platform at night, the customer by day: this role covers both.

As a German-speaking IT Operations / System Administrator, you keep business-critical server, application and platform environments running. You are also a trusted point of contact for the customer’s IT administrators, key users and service owners.

You will analyse and resolve incidents independently, coordinate escalations when specialist support is needed, and work with modern automation and AI-supported monitoring that helps spot and fix issues faster.

The client is building up its SAP operations right now. You don’t need SAP Basis experience on day one. You’ll start with monitoring and runbooks, move into operational tasks and, if you want it, into real Basis work: kernel and support-package updates, HANA topics and system changes. If you already bring SAP experience, you’ll shape how it’s done from the start.

Responsibilities:

- Act as a trusted point of contact for customer IT administrators, key users and service owners.

- Monitor and support business-critical server, application and platform environments.

- Analyse incidents, resolve technical issues independently and coordinate escalations when needed.

- Handle incidents, service requests and changes through the IT service management platform.

- Work with automation and AI-supported monitoring tools to detect and resolve issues faster.

- Support the operation and monitoring of enterprise applications, including SAP environments.

- Perform maintenance, updates, patching and operational checks according to approved processes.

- Collaborate with Operations, Consulting and Engineering colleagues on customer projects and service improvements.

- Document solutions, share knowledge and help improve services and automation.

- Maintain high service quality and compliance standards in regulated customer environments.

Qualifications:

Required

- 2 years of experience in IT Support, Systems Administration or IT Operations.

- Solid knowledge of server operations on Windows or Linux.

- Basic understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure: TCP/IP, DNS, Active Directory and Windows Server environments.

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills, with a customer-oriented mindset.

- Willingness to learn new technologies.

- Willingness to work in a 24/7 shift model.

- German (C1) and English (B2).

Nice to have

- Experience with monitoring solutions and event or incident handling.

- Experience with public cloud, ideally Microsoft Azure.

- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure AD, SCCM / Intune.

- Scripting in PowerShell or Bash.

About the offer

Our client offers a supportive setup and a clear path to grow:

- You don’t carry 24/7 alone. Night shifts are shared across one team in Romania, Spain and Germany, with the German operations team and on-call behind you for escalations. Rosters are planned in advance, and night shifts can be worked from home.

- SAP skills, built with you. You go from monitoring to hands-on SAP Basis work at your own pace.

- AI and automation, learned on the job. You get a short course, practice on real events, a small work sample and a badge, all during working hours, not in your free time.

- Your side project becomes the operating model. If you build n8n workflows or work with coding agents, that goes into how the team actually works. The runbook you automate is the alert nobody gets woken up for again.

- A visible way forward. Internal roles such as Knowledge & Automation Engineer and AI Evaluation Engineer are filled from their own teams first.

- Certification support. CompTIA Network+ / Security+, Microsoft Azure Administrator and SAP certifications are paid, with time to prepare.

- Hybrid setup: 2 days home office and 2 days on site in Cluj per week

- 25 days of annual leave

- Private healthcare and meal vouchers

- German language training funded up to C1
