About the Company
The OpenAI Deployment Company (“DeployCo”) is the deployment arm of OpenAI, purpose-built to deliver enterprise AI transformation at scale. As model capabilities accelerate, deployment has become the primary constraint to realizing AI value creation within large enterprises. DeployCo bridges that gap.
Our ambition is to build the company that defines AI deployment. We operate at the intersection of cutting-edge AI, enterprise transformation, and scaled services delivery. We partner with enterprise customers to identify where AI can transform their businesses and build solutions leveraging OpenAI’s models and products. We work with many of the world's largest and most influential companies to solve their most complex business challenges using the latest advances in AI.
People who thrive at DeployCo get excited about ambitious and complex work. We are deep believers in the future with AI. We execute quickly, value intellectual honesty, and obsess over the solutions we build for our customers.
DeployCo is being built from the ground up as a subsidiary of OpenAI and funded with a partnership of outside investors.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Product Lead to shape and build the internal platform that DeployCo runs on. Building an AI-native company starts with how we operate ourselves. In this role, you will own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for our internal platform, rethinking how work gets done with AI and translating complex operational needs into intuitive, reliable tools.
Your scope will span DeployCo’s core business operations: staffing and resourcing, financial operations and reporting, recruiting workflows, and sales and pipeline management. You will connect these workflows into a coherent platform that gives teams the tools to execute and leaders the information to make better decisions.
You will partner closely with engineers and leaders across Delivery, Finance, People, Sales, and Operations, owning the product from discovery through launch and ongoing improvement. You will set a high bar for quality and work closely with teams to ensure what we build becomes part of how they operate.
Success in this role will look like a platform that teams rely on every day, workflows that require less manual effort, and accurate, accessible information that improves how we run the business. You will help DeployCo scale its operations while keeping teams focused on delivering value to customers.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
- Own the product vision and roadmap for DeployCo’s internal platform, balancing immediate operational needs with the capabilities the business will need as it scales.
- Embed with internal teams to understand how work gets done and redesign workflows around AI and automation, reducing manual effort, simplifying handoffs, and translating opportunities into clear product priorities.
- Build connected experiences across people, resourcing, finance, recruiting, and sales, accounting for how information and decisions move between teams.
- Partner closely with engineers and designers to ship high-quality products, making pragmatic tradeoffs on scope, sequencing, usability, and reliability.
- Shape the platform’s data and reporting capabilities so teams and leadership can trust the information behind operational decisions, financial reviews, and board reporting.
- Shape platform security and access controls so employees and external partners can access only the information and capabilities appropriate to their roles.
- Own adoption and continuous improvement, using direct feedback and measures such as time saved, workflow completion, data accuracy, and usage to guide investment.
YOU MAY THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU:
- Have a track record of building excellent products that deliver meaningful value to users, including hands-on experience building AI-powered or agentic applications, and are excited to bring that ambition to DeployCo’s own teams and operations.
- Can set a compelling long-term direction while staying close to execution, moving comfortably between company priorities, user needs, and the details of a product experience.
- Bring strong user empathy and a high bar for product craft, investing time in understanding how people work and making complex workflows feel simple and intuitive.
- Are hands-on: comfortable working in Figma, SQL, and Git, and using tools like Codex to prototype ideas, test assumptions, and accelerate development in close partnership with engineers.
- Are technically fluent enough to work through data models, integrations, permissions, and system tradeoffs with engineers, and comfortable using data to investigate problems and measure results.
- Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical partners, make compelling cases for what to build and why, and build alignment around priorities and tradeoffs.
- Operate well in ambiguity, take initiative, and bring the structure and follow-through needed to turn a broad mandate into shipped products that teams adopt and rely on.
