Job Description

As an Industrial Hygiene Field Technician, you'll support environmental and building science projects that help identify and manage environmental hazards in commercial, industrial, and community settings. Working across a variety of project sites, you'll collect field data, perform inspections, and contribute to solutions that protect people, property, and the environment. This role offers hands-on experience, professional development opportunities, and exposure to a wide range of environmental consulting services.

Core Responsibilities

- Conduct field inspections and sample collection for asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, indoor air quality (IAQ), radon, industrial hygiene, and other environmental investigations.

- Document observations, interpret field data, and assist with technical reporting.

- Communicate professionally with clients, contractors, laboratories, and regulatory agencies.

- Follow established safety procedures and maintain high-quality field documentation. (Aligned to role requirements and Atlas safety standards.)

- Support projects that may require evening, weekend, and overnight travel assignments.

- Assist across related environmental and building science services while developing new technical skills and certifications.

You’ll thrive here if you have

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Interest in environmental consulting, industrial hygiene, building sciences, or field-based technical work.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to manage multiple assignments and work both independently and as part of a team.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

- Willingness to obtain technical training and certifications related to radon, asbestos, lead, mold/IAQ, and industrial hygiene sampling.

- Ability to travel overnight approximately 25-35% of the time and work occasional nights and weekends.

- Valid driver's license and ability to meet driving requirements.
