Senior Data Engineer

Senior Data Engineer role working with a major Australian retailer, as part of a significant data transformation program. The immediate requirement is for a 3-month contract, with the project expected to run through to the end of February. There is also potential for the contract to transition into a permanent opportunity, so there’s a longer-term possibility if things work well for both sides.
The key requirement is strong hands-on experience with dbt, Airflow and Snowflake, along with solid experience across data ingestion and transformation. They’re looking for someone who is comfortable getting into the detail and building/working with data pipelines rather than someone heavily focused on stakeholder management, so it’s quite a hands-on engineering role.
A few details:
- 3-month initial contract, expected through to end of February
- ASAP start, ideally immediately or within 2 weeks
- Hybrid – 3 days in the office
- Strong dbt, Airflow & Snowflake required
- Hands-on ingestion and transformation experience
- Contract-to-permanent is potentially available
- Interview process is expected to be straightforward, likely one technical/initial interview
