Teacher - Lansdowne Secure Children's Home
East Sussex County Council · Hailsham, East Sussex, United Kingdom · onsite
Do you want to help young people rebuild their confidence, discover their potential and create a brighter future? If so, we want to hear from you!
As a teacher at Lansdowne Secure Children’s Home, you’ll have the opportunity to help young people rebuild their confidence, develop their skills and discover their potential.
Lansdowne is one of only 14 Secure Children’s Homes in England and Wales, providing care and education for young people who have been robbed of their independence. You’ll teach small groups, supporting young people who may have significant gaps in their education and need a fresh start with learning.
We’d particularly welcome teachers with an English specialism, as literacy and reading are key to helping young people progress. Whether your experience is in primary, secondary or further education (FE), we’d love to hear from you. You’ll assess individual needs, adapt your teaching and celebrate every achievement, however small, while also supporting learning across other subjects where needed.
Working closely with our Care and Health teams, you’ll help create a safe, supportive learning environment where young people can grow in confidence, develop their independence and build brighter futures. This is a chance to use your teaching skills in a role where your impact goes far beyond the classroom.
