Senior DevOps Engineer (d/f/m)

Your mission
You move our production systems into the STACKIT Cloud and make sure they run stably and securely there. You take on topics independently and are the go-to person for operations, both for the team and for our customers.
- You operate and extend our Kubernetes clusters on STACKIT, from networking and ingress to certificates and secrets. You also evolve our infrastructure-as-code foundation using OpenTofu/Terraform, Ansible and Helm.
- For customer installations, you own deployments and cutovers with a rollback plan and back every change with measurements from the actual target environment. Your first project is migrating our builder infrastructure into a STACKIT cluster.
- You build out observability and alerting with Prometheus, Grafana and Loki and own operational security, from CVE assessment and image pinning to secret rotation and least privilege.
- When working with AI agents such as Claude Code, you define the task, review the output critically and decide what gets adopted. You also write runbooks and record decisions along with their constraints, so that colleagues and agents alike can work with them.
- You help decide where we spend our limited time and what we deliberately leave out. When something isn’t worth the effort, you say so.
Your profile
- Several years of experience running production systems, with responsibility for production beyond building pipelines. A computer science degree is just as welcome as a self-taught background with demonstrable practice.
- Deep understanding of Linux, networking and Kubernetes, plus confident use of infrastructure as code and Git-based workflows.
- Analytical root-cause investigation, including in systems built by others, and the habit of verifying claims rather than taking them at face value, including your own and those of tools.
- Precise writing as a core skill, from task descriptions to handovers and justifications, plus hands-on experience guiding AI coding agents to produce working results.
- An autonomous way of working without close supervision and the ability to make decisions and explain them.
