Core Responsibilities

- Lead major programs that may span multiple business areas, products, regions, or functions. Define the program strategy, objectives, roadmap, operating model, governance, decision rights, and integrated delivery plan. Maintain accountability across stakeholders and capture dependencies and decision points.

- Identify and manage program-level risks, issues, dependencies, constraints, and change impacts. Establish mitigation and contingency plans, remove blockers when possible, and escalate material decisions with clear context and recommendations.

- Partner with sponsors and business owners to define value and success measures before delivery. Track benefits, adoption, readiness, and post-launch performance, and use health checks and retrospectives to address gaps.

- Create clarity in ambiguous or unprecedented situations. Frame options, surface assumptions, evaluate trade-offs, and recommend a path forward using relevant business, customer, financial, operational, and delivery data.

- Align senior stakeholders on priorities, scope, sequencing, resources, and outcomes. Anticipate objections, resolve conflict constructively, and influence decisions without direct authority.

- Provide concise, decision-oriented communication for executives, delivery teams, and partners. Ensure stakeholders understand program health, changes, risks, trade-offs, decisions, and required actions.

- Lead the people side of change for assigned programs by assessing impacts, engaging affected stakeholders, supporting readiness, and reinforcing adoption of new products, processes, capabilities, or ways of working.

- Mentor project managers and other delivery professionals. Share judgment, tools, and practices that raise execution quality while preserving accountability with the individuals leading the work.

- Use approved AI and automation tools to improve program planning, research, knowledge synthesis, scenario analysis, risk identification, meeting and status synthesis, reporting, and other repeatable delivery activities. Remain accountable for the quality and integrity of program information, including information created or summarized with AI assistance.

- Identify opportunities to improve or simplify end-to-end ways of working. Test new approaches at an appropriate scale, define measures of success, capture lessons learned, and help scale practices that demonstrate value.

- Help teams adopt new tools and ways of working by explaining the purpose, setting appropriate guardrails, sharing effective practices, and addressing resistance or capability gaps.

- Challenge unclear outcomes, unsupported assumptions, duplicative work, or delivery approaches that do not support the intended business value.

What Success Looks Like

- Program outcomes and benefits are defined, understood, and connected to strategic and customer value.

- Leaders receive timely, fact-based options and recommendations that enable decisions and clarify trade-offs.

- Cross-functional teams operate from an integrated plan with visible ownership, dependencies, risks, and decisions.

- Risks and barriers are identified early, managed transparently, and escalated with recommended actions when required.

- AI, automation, and improved practices create demonstrable gains in speed, consistency, insight, or execution quality, while maintaining responsible human oversight.

- Other project managers and delivery partners become more capable through coaching, reusable practices, and shared learning.

Qualifications

- 8+ years of progressive project and program management experience, including independent leadership of complex, cross-functional programs or multiple related projects.

- Demonstrated ability to create program strategy, integrated plans, governance, and executive decision structures in ambiguous environments.

- Proven success influencing senior stakeholders, negotiating priorities and resources, resolving cross-functional conflict, and leading without direct authority.

- Strong experience managing program risks, dependencies, budgets or investments, delivery performance, change impacts, and benefits or outcome measures.

- Exceptional written, verbal, facilitation, and executive communication skills, including the ability to translate complex information into clear decisions and actions.

- Experience using data and modern project, collaboration, automation, or AI-enabled tools to improve program delivery and decision support.

- Working knowledge of responsible AI practices, including output validation, human oversight, data protection, transparency, and appropriate escalation.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
