Job Purpose:

To support the effective operation of the Compliance Monitoring and Testing (CMAT) function by leading and executing risk-based compliance reviews and quality assurance (QA) activities across the Bank. The role is responsible for evaluating the design and effectiveness of internal controls, identifying control weaknesses and emerging compliance risks, and providing independent assurance to Management on the effectiveness of the Bank’s compliance framework. The Senior Manager will oversee the delivery of the approved CMAT and QA plan, ensure timely reporting and remediation of findings, and promote a strong culture of regulatory compliance and continuous improvement across the Bank.

Principal Accountabilities:

Compliance Monitoring & Testing Programme Delivery

- Conduct and support the delivery of risk-based compliance monitoring reviews, thematic reviews, and testing activities in accordance with the approved CMAT and QA plan.

- Develop and implement review methodologies, testing approaches, and work programmes to assess compliance and control effectiveness.

Independent Assurance and Control Assessment

- Assess the design and operating effectiveness of controls across the relevant risk areas.

- Support the provision of independent assurance to Management regarding the effectiveness of the Bank's compliance framework and control environment.

Findings Management and Remediation Oversight

- Prepare risk-based reports outlining observations, root causes, risk implications, and recommended actions.

- Monitor and validate the implementation of agreed management actions to ensure risks are effectively mitigated.

Quality Assurance (QA) Governance

- Perform and coordinate QA activities to assess the effectiveness and consistency of Compliance processes and controls.

- Ensure QA reviews are conducted in accordance with approved methodologies, policies, and regulatory expectations.

Regulatory and Risk Advisory

- Maintain awareness of regulatory developments, emerging risks, and industry best practices.

- Provide advice and guidance to Management on compliance risks, review outcomes, and risk mitigation strategies.

Stakeholder Management and Reporting

- Build effective relationships with stakeholders across the Bank to support the delivery of compliance assurance activities.

- Prepare and present management information, reports, and thematic insights, escalating significant compliance concerns where appropriate.

Continuous Improvement

- Support and contribute to enhancements to CMAT methodologies, reporting frameworks, and quality assurance practices.

- Support the ongoing development and maturity of the Bank's compliance assurance framework through innovation, automation, and best practices.

RequirementsExperience:

•The jobholder operates within the Compliance Monitoring and Testing function and is responsible for delivering assurance activities in a highly regulated banking environment subject to UAE regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.

•The jobholder works closely with stakeholders across the Bank to assess compliance risks, evaluate control effectiveness, and support the remediation of identified issues.
