TRAVELING SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

The Traveling Senior Project Managers at Mid-City Electric lead large, complex electrical construction projects and are accountable for delivering safe, high-quality results on schedule and within budget. They collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, build strong professional relationships, and maintain clear, consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle. This role has a home base in Westerville, Ohio, and requires approximately 75% travel to project sites. After the initial onboarding period, the position may be performed remotely, provided the employee resides within reasonable proximity to an active project site.

What You Will Be Doing:

- Leading large-scale commercial electrical construction projects

- Preparing accurate bids and estimates

- Securing profitable project opportunities

- Maintaining strong, positive relationships

- Establishing project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards

- Maintaining high levels of communication with all parties involved in projects

- Preparing contracts, change orders, and purchase orders

- Requisitioning needed supplies and materials

- Maintaining safe job sites and encouraging safe work practices

- Overseeing diverse teams

Key Experience to Hit the Ground Running:

- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field, or extensive electrical construction experience with demonstrated leadership capability.

- Minimum of five years of project management and estimating experience in commercial construction

- Experience in the structured cabling and low-voltage industries.

- Proficiency with Bluebeam and electronic construction-document management platforms

- Working knowledge of electrical construction, design, finance, and management

- Demonstrated ability to improve employee performance through effective and innovative management techniques

- Thorough knowledge of applicable industry standards, best practices, and processes and their impact on project activities

- Ability to travel approximately 75% of the time.

What Would Really Make You Shine:

- Commercial electrical project management experience

- LEED certification

- Accubid experience

- Professional certification such as PMP or CCM

- Experience managing large, technically complex, or multi-site projects

- Advanced proficiency with scheduling, cost-management, and construction-technology platforms

- Strong commercial and contract-negotiation skills

- A record of developing high-performing project teams.

- Compensation for the Traveling Senior Project Manager role ranges from $135,000 to $175,000 annually depending on experience

- Additional travel considerations for compensation may be made to align with project assignment requirements and needs
