ABOUT THE ROLE
Join an established bankruptcy and commercial litigation practice as a debtor-side bankruptcy litigator. You will lead complex disputes and help steward client relationships and active matters as part of a long-term practice succession.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead debtor-side bankruptcy litigation, including adversary proceedings, contested matters, and related disputes.
- Manage litigation from case strategy through courtroom advocacy and resolution.
- Appear in bankruptcy court and represent debtors in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 proceedings.
- Work collaboratively with bankruptcy colleagues and the broader commercial litigation team.
- Develop and maintain client relationships, including supporting the transition of existing clients and matters.
- Contribute to business development and the practice's long-term leadership.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 8 to 15 years of relevant experience, including substantial debtor-side bankruptcy litigation experience.
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active admission to the New York Bar.
- Strong command of the Bankruptcy Code and Rules, with experience handling adversary proceedings, contested matters, hearings, and court appearances.
- Proficiency with Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, ECF, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage a practice independently, work collaboratively, and build lasting client relationships.
- Experience with client succession, business development, or portable bankruptcy work is valued.
- Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Base salary: $275,000 to $400,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
