ABOUT THE ROLE
Join the land use and zoning practice of a New York real estate law firm. You will advise developers, property owners, institutions, and investors on NYC zoning matters and help guide projects through land use approvals.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Conduct zoning due diligence for acquisitions and financings, and prepare written analyses of floor area, use, bulk, height, and setbacks.
- Advise clients on development rights transactions, including air rights purchases and sales and zoning lot development agreements.
- Prepare and manage discretionary approvals, including ULURP applications, BSA variances and special permits, landmark matters, and environmental review.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, community boards, and elected officials during public review.
- Work with transactional lawyers on real estate acquisitions and development projects.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- At least 3 years of experience interpreting and applying the NYC Zoning Resolution, gained at a law firm, in government, or in a combination of settings.
- Hands-on experience with zoning due diligence, written zoning analyses, or land use applications such as ULURP, BSA, or LPC matters.
- Admission to the New York Bar and NYC-specific zoning experience.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Salary range: $250,000 to $275,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
