Hosting extensive virtual machines and data, the Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) II supports automated testing, framework upkeep, and quality assurance. Responsibilities include software platform maintenance and hypervisor upgrades within the expanding infrastructure.

This role involves creating and running automated tests for the Fleet Ops project to support backend services, APIs, and tools. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining test suites to verify hypervisor upgrades and ensure consistent service functionality.
As a SDET II on the Fleet Operations Team, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and maintaining automated test cases with Python and Pytest to validate backend control plane services, REST APIs, and CLI utilities.
- Developing functional and integration tests for virtual machine lifecycle operations, live migrations, and KVM hypervisor updates within host stack validation.
- CI/CD & Automation Integration: Integrate test suites into continuous integration pipelines to ensure regular automated regression execution.
- Investigating test failures, identifying root causes, and collaborating with developers to resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
- Possess relevant experience in software test automation or quality engineering, totaling two or more, with education in technical fields.
- Demonstrate expertise in Python programming and practical experience using test automation frameworks such as Pytest effectively.
- Demonstrate expertise in Linux environments and foundational CI/CD pipeline integration using tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions effectively.
- Validate frontend test automation using TypeScript and web testing tools like Cypress or Playwright for unified control pane UI accuracy. - nice to have.
- Utilize Linux hypervisors, KVM, VM live migrations, and low-level host stack operationsknowledge in these areas is advantageous.
- Utilize tools like SaltStack, Ansible, or ArgoCD for infrastructure configuration management; experience with these is advantageous.
