Position Summary:

The Electronics Engineer is a system development and R&D engineering position responsible for the design of advanced electronic boards, including power, communication, video, high-speed, and embedded design. This role takes new electronic board concepts through all aspects of the development cycle, resulting in a producible and innovative system. The position spans the full hardware lifecycle, encompassing integration, production support, and debugging to ensure a seamless transition from prototype to a fully developed and manufactured system.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

- Create PCBA schematics and layouts for advanced defense systems.

- Drive new electronic board concepts through all aspects of the development cycle, resulting in a producible and innovative system.

- Develop and integrate new and advanced boards into complex, multidisciplinary systems.

- Identify design flaws and malfunctioning electronics, execute root-cause analysis, and implement effective fixes.

- Assist in the development of test equipment and procedures for manufacturing support.

- Ensure a seamless transition from prototype to a fully developed and manufactured system.

- Design hardware and components to stringent military standards.

- Engage in and actively volunteer for continuous improvement projects/tasks.

- Travel infrequently as required by project demands.

- Miscellaneous duties as assigned

Education/Experience & Skills:

- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is required.

- 7 years of recent, related experience in board design and integration.

- Experience with Altium and other electronic design CAD software.

- Creative, self-motivated, and an independent thinker with a proactive "can do" approach.

- Aptitude for detail with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

- Firearm and electro-optics experience is preferred.

- Must be able to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, both verbally and in written form.

Working Conditions:

- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer using a keyboard and mouse performing repetitive tasks.

- Ability to open file cabinets, reach with hands and arms, bend, and twist, lift and move files.

- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

- Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.

- Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. Security Mandates.
