The Opportunity
We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive IT Systems Administrator to join our IT team. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career professionals to gain broad experience in a fast-paced, healthcare environment with strong real-world impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Level 1–2 IT support to internal staff across desktop, application, and network-related issues.
- Manage and maintain Windows-based systems, including desktops, servers, and Active Directory.
- Support users on-site and remotely.
- Monitor and troubleshoot networking equipment, internet connectivity, and VoIP systems.
- Administer and support virtual machines (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot printers, label printers, and laboratory-specific devices.
- Participate in IT projects, system upgrades, and documentation efforts.
- Maintain system integrity, backups, and access controls in line with internal policies.
- Manage IT inventory
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree required).
- 1–2 years of experience in an IT support or systems administration role.
- Sound knowledge of:
- Windows OS (desktop and server)
- Microsoft 365 Suite
- Networking fundamentals (DHCP, DNS, firewalls, switches, etc.)
- Virtualisation technologies (e.g. VMware or Hyper-V)
- Printer and peripheral device troubleshooting
- Computer hardware building and troubleshooting
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with attention to detail.
Additional Advantageous Experience:
- Experience in healthcare, laboratory, or clinical environments.
- Familiarity with backup solutions, endpoint security, or IT compliance requirements.
- Basic scripting or automation knowledge (PowerShell, etc.)
- Familiarity with Group policy
- Experience with firewalls/network security
