Strategic Project Lead (Demand Side)

clera · San Francisco · onsite

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a senior individual contributor role on a small, high-velocity team building an AI-powered talent marketplace that connects exceptional candidates directly with high-growth startups. You will own the demand side of the marketplace end to end, bringing in the companies that hire through the platform and turning what works into a scalable growth engine. The role is designed to evolve into a General Manager position with broader business ownership.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Own company acquisition from prospecting and initial outreach through onboarding and full activation.

- Build trusted relationships with founders, executives, and talent leaders at venture-backed startups.

- Develop a deep understanding of each client's hiring needs and translate them into successful searches on the platform.

- Execute across multiple GTM channels including cold calling, outbound sequences, referrals, partnerships, events, and content.

- Write and optimize email and LinkedIn campaigns that consistently generate qualified conversations.

- Experiment quickly with new messaging, channels, customer segments, and commercial models.

- Turn successful experiments into measurable, repeatable processes that the company can scale.

- Collaborate with talent and product teams to improve matching quality, client experience, and marketplace liquidity.

- Track the full demand funnel, identify bottlenecks, and take ownership of improving conversion at every stage.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- 1 to 2 or more years of experience in a client-facing, commercial, consulting, operations, or growth role.

- Background in a fast-paced, high-performance environment such as a venture-backed startup, management consulting, investment banking, or venture capital.

- Comfortable working across strategy and execution, from designing a GTM motion to personally sending the first hundred messages.

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships quickly and credibly with senior stakeholders.

- Demonstrated achievements from prior startup or high-growth work, with concrete outcomes to point to.

- Strong instincts for experimenting, iterating, and building repeatable systems from scratch.
