General Ledger Accountant

Your Role and ImpactAs a General Ledger & Payroll Accounting Professional, you will support accurate, compliant, and timely accounting operations within Flowserve’s global Finance organization. You will play an important role in transitioning payroll-related General Ledger activities, supporting month-end closing, maintaining strong financial controls, and contributing to process improvements alongside experienced finance professionals and global stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Support the transition of payroll-related General Ledger activities from the GL team to the Payroll team, working closely with senior accountants.
- Take ownership of assigned accounting processes and month-end closing activities.
- Perform US GAAP accounting, reporting, financial analysis, and respond to ad hoc information requests.
- Prepare General Ledger account analyses and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Execute and document SOX controls diligently.
- Support internal and external audit activities.
- Build and maintain robust process documentation.
- Collaborate with global stakeholders and contribute to continuous process-improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications- Degree or ongoing studies in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Hungarian.
- Solid understanding of General Ledger accounting and financial processes.
- Knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications- Basic knowledge of SAP and/or Oracle ERP systems.
