ABOUT THE ROLE
Join an established bankruptcy and commercial litigation practice as a debtor-side bankruptcy litigator. You will manage complex disputes and help maintain continuity for clients as a senior partner transitions out of the practice.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead debtor-side bankruptcy litigation, including adversary proceedings, contested matters, and related disputes.
- Manage litigation from case strategy through courtroom advocacy, hearings, and resolution.
- Take ownership of an established caseload and support the transition of client relationships.
- Collaborate with bankruptcy and commercial litigation colleagues across the practice.
- Develop and maintain client relationships and contribute to business development.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 8 to 15 or more years of bankruptcy litigation experience, with a focus on representing debtors.
- Experience with adversary proceedings, contested matters, bankruptcy court appearances, and Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 proceedings.
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and active New York bar admission.
- Strong working knowledge of the Bankruptcy Code and Rules.
- Proficiency with Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, ECF, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage a practice independently, work collaboratively, and steward client relationships through a partner transition.
- A portable bankruptcy practice and business development experience are beneficial.
- Must be authorized to work without visa sponsorship.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Base salary range: $275,000 to $400,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
