About the team

Our Creative team dreams up and delivers thoughtful gifting experiences for our customers. We work across gifting concepts, curated merch and gift collections, custom products, production artwork, packaging and catalogue content.

We care about materials, finishes, colour and storytelling because every detail contributes to a gift’s emotional impact. As we grow, we’re building a stronger catalogue of products while continuing to develop creative responses to individual client briefs.

This is a permanent role focused on physical gifting, merchandise and packaging. Your portfolio should show physical products, printed work or packaging that have been produced.

About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Designer with strong concepting and graphic design skills, alongside hands-on experience designing for physical products. Guided by client values and brand guidelines, you’ll turn briefs into thoughtful gift ideas, compelling presentations and beautifully resolved artwork for merch, gifts and packaging.

You’ll take work from the first idea through to production handover: developing the creative direction, showing clients how it could come to life, and creating artwork that meets their brand guidelines and the requirements of the chosen product and production method.

A strong understanding of how things get made is essential. You’ll understand how materials, print, decoration, finishes and manufacturing constraints affect a design, and work closely with our production team to deliver the intended result.

What you'll do?

Develop ideas and present them clearly- Lead and support creative responses to client gifting briefs, translating brand values, campaign themes and gifting objectives into distinctive gift ideas and collections.

- Develop clear creative narratives that connect the idea, the product choices and the recipient’s experience.

- Build polished presentations with product mock-ups, artwork proposals and material or finish references that help clients understand and choose a direction.

- Present your thinking confidently and develop the work in response to feedback.

Design artwork for products and packaging- Create original graphics, layouts and artwork for physical products and packaging, working within client brand guidelines.

- Adapt designs thoughtfully to different product shapes, sizes, materials and decoration areas, maintaining consistency across a collection.

- Prepare accurate, production-ready artwork to supplier specifications, including colour references, dimensions, placement and print or decoration requirements.

- Review proofs and samples with production colleagues, helping resolve design issues so the finished product reflects the approved creative direction.

Bring ideas through to production- Curate quality products and develop custom gift ideas with an understanding of materials, construction, print, decoration and finishes.

- Work closely with B&M and the production design team to assess feasibility, cost, lead times and quality, making considered design decisions within the brief and budget.

- Use your knowledge of production methods to recommend suitable approaches and recognise when a design needs to be adapted.

- Manage multiple briefs and deadlines, maintain clear files and handovers, and contribute ideas that strengthen our catalogue and creative standards.

What you'll need

- A strong portfolio of physical products, merchandise, printed work or packaging that you have helped take from concept to finished production. Experience designing work that has been made is essential.

- Excellent conceptual thinking and graphic design skills, with a sharp eye for typography, composition, colour and detail.

- Experience creating original artwork and applying brand guidelines across products and packaging.

- Practical knowledge of materials, manufacturing and decoration methods, such as screen printing, embroidery, engraving and packaging print and finishes, and how these affect design decisions.

- Confidence preparing production-ready files, working to supplier specifications and reviewing proofs or samples.

- Strong presentation and storytelling skills, with the ability to explain a creative idea and the choices behind it.

- High proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

- Strong organisation and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and manage multiple briefs and deadlines.

- Relevant backgrounds may include merchandise, gifting, packaging, branded products, retail or a creative agency delivering physical products. We’re interested in the quality of your work and your experience bringing it to life.

What success looks like- Gift ideas and presentations that respond clearly to the brief and feel distinctive to each client’s brand.

- Well-crafted artwork that translates successfully onto finished products and packaging.

- Creative choices that balance recipient appeal, product quality, budget and production feasibility.

- Accurate files, clear handovers and constructive collaboration across Creative, B&M and Production.

- Consistent delivery across briefs and fresh ideas that strengthen our gifting offering.

How to apply

Please submit your CV, portfolio and a short cover letter explaining why you’re a good fit for the role.

In your portfolio, please include examples of physical products, merchandise or packaging that have been produced. Show the initial idea or brief, your presentation or mock-ups, and the finished product. Where possible, include production artwork or details of materials, decoration methods and finishes.

For each example, explain your contribution and any production considerations you worked through. We want to understand how you connect creative thinking, design craft and the realities of making something.
