SAP Implementation Project Manager
Kymera is undergoing a global transformation initiative to harmonize its business processes and replace multiple legacy ERP systems with a global ERP platform. The SAP ERP Project Manager is part of Kymera’s IT Business Applications team and is responsible for the end-to-end planning and delivery of Kymera’s global SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud implementation. This role will coordinate Kymera business and IT teams, the SAP implementation partner, and other vendors to deliver the program safely, predictably, and in alignment with approved scope, schedule, budget, quality, and business outcomes. The Project Manager will establish disciplined governance, manage dependencies across functional workstreams, data, integrations, testing, security, change management, training, cutover, and hyper care, and provide clear reporting and escalation to program leadership and the Steering Committee. This impactful role directly contributes to Kymera’s scalability, growth, and success by enabling the transition from legacy ERP systems and local processes to SAP S/4HANA and globally standardized ways of working across Kymera’s locations.
Essential Duties:
Project Leadership: Lead the global SAP ERP project through discovery, design, build, test, deployment, cutover, hyper care, transition to ongoing support and overall business improvement.
Planning and Control: Build and maintain the integrated project plan, milestones, critical path, resource plan, budget, dependencies, deliverables, and acceptance criteria across all workstreams.
Governance and Reporting: Establish project governance, decision forums, status reporting, issue escalation, change control, documentation standards, and Steering Committee materials.
Delivery Management: Coordinate Kymera teams, the implementation partner, SAP, and other vendors; track commitments; validate deliverable quality; and hold owners accountable for timely completion.
Risk, Quality, and Readiness: Proactively manage risks, issues, assumptions, decisions, scope changes, testing readiness, data migration readiness, security, controls, cutover, and go-live criteria.
Stakeholder and Change Leadership: Partner with executive sponsors, business process owners, site leaders, and change teams to drive decisions, communications, training, adoption, and realization of business benefits
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field.
Seven years or more of project or program management experience, including ERP or business transformation initiatives in a multi-national industrial organization.
Five years or more of SAP project delivery experience, including leadership responsibility on at least two full life-cycle SAP S/4HANA implementation; Public Cloud experience is strongly preferred.
Expected travel, both international and domestic, is 30% to 60% during major design, testing, and deployment periods and 10% to 15% on an ongoing basis.
Demonstrated ability to manage integrated plans across SAP functional workstreams, data migration, integrations, testing, security, controls, training, cutover, and hyper care.
Strong working knowledge of SAP Activate or a comparable implementation methodology, including fit-to-standard, backlog management, stage gates, quality reviews, and deployment governance.
Proven experience managing systems integrators and vendors, including statements of work, deliverables, resource plans, commercial commitments, and performance.
Proficiency with project management, collaboration, and reporting tools such as Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, Jira, Teams, SharePoint, Power BI, or similar platforms.
PMP, PRINCE2, SAP Activate, or comparable project management certification is preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
Fluency in German, Portuguese, Norwegian, or other languages is a major plus.
Experience in metal, chemical, powder metallurgy, or other process and discrete manufacturing environments.
Working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud, SAP Cloud ALM, SAP Central Business Configuration, SAP BTP, integrations, data migration, and Fiori applications.
