ABOUT THE ROLE
A mid-level M&A/PE Associate is sought to join a corporate practice at a law firm. The role combines end-to-end transaction leadership with general corporate work, offering regular client contact and close collaboration with partners.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Manage mergers and acquisitions from due diligence through closing.
- Draft and negotiate purchase agreements, merger agreements, financing documents, and other transaction documents.
- Coordinate due diligence processes across transactions.
- Advise clients on entity formation, corporate structuring, and ongoing corporate matters.
- Support private equity sponsors and portfolio companies throughout the investment lifecycle.
- Work directly with clients and collaborate with partners in a lean team environment.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Four to eight years of M&A and private equity transactional experience at a law firm, with the ability to independently run deals end-to-end.
- Experience supporting private equity-sponsored transactions, managing due diligence, and drafting and negotiating purchase or merger agreements.
- A Juris Doctor degree and a license to practice law in Missouri, or willingness to obtain one.
- Strong client service, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple matters.
- Experience with general corporate work; debt financings, equity structuring, or cross-border transactions are also relevant.
- Authorization to work in the United States is required. Visa sponsorship is not available.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Base salary range: $205,000 to $285,000 annually. Compensation is not tied to a BigLaw lockstep model.
LOCATION
On-site in St. Louis, Missouri, with four days per week in the office. Chicago-based candidates with Missouri ties may also be considered.
