About the opportunity
Lead the planning and delivery of a portfolio of strategic initiatives that support the University's goals and operational priorities. Working across multiple business areas, you will coordinate complex projects and change initiatives, collaborate with stakeholders to define priorities and delivery plans, and ensure successful implementation of new services, processes, and systems.
You will drive a consistent and effective approach to change management, stakeholder engagement, and service transition, while partnering with leaders and delivery teams to achieve outcomes that enhance the student, staff, and research experience. The role also champions continuous improvement of project and delivery practices, tools, and capabilities across the University. Success in this role will be driven by the ability to build trusted relationships across the University's research community, translate strategic objectives into deliverable programs of work, influence decision-making at all levels, and ensure initiatives deliver measurable organisational outcomes. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable engaging with executive leaders, researchers, and delivery teams
What you'll do
· Lead the planning and delivery of strategic initiatives that support University priorities and operational goals.
· Partner with stakeholders to identify needs, provide advice, and develop practical solutions to complex challenges.
· Manage demand, priorities, and business requests, ensuring resources are aligned to organisational needs.
· Oversee a portfolio of projects, programs, and services, monitoring progress, risks, dependencies, and outcomes.
· Lead change planning and implementation activities, ensuring successful adoption of new systems, processes, and ways of working.
· Support service transitions and readiness activities to ensure solutions are effectively embedded into operations.
· Prepare and present recommendations, business cases, risks, trade-offs and benefits to senior leadership and executive stakeholders to support informed decision-making.
· Build strong relationships with stakeholders, influencing decision-making and facilitating effective collaboration.
· Lead, coach, and develop staff, fostering a high-performance, customer-focused, and continuous improvement culture.
· Monitor performance and drive improvements to business processes, services, and delivery practices.
About you
Essential Experience
· Strategic stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
· Experience translating business strategy into programs, initiatives or portfolios of work.
· Program, portfolio, PMO or delivery governance experience.
· Business case development and investment planning.
· Executive communication and influencing capability.
· Benefits realisation and outcome-focused delivery.
· Experience managing competing priorities, service demand, strategic investment decisions and delivery pipelines within complex organisations.
Highly Desirable
· Higher education or research-sector experience.
· Research governance, research platforms or research enablement exposure.
· Experience working with academics, researchers or research institutes.
· Portfolio management or PMO establishment experience.

This is a fixed term opportunity for 12 months primarily based at Griffith University Brisbane South (Nathan) campus. As Griffith is a multi-site university, you may be required to work across other locations.

Salary: A competitive salary will be negotiated with the preferred candidate.
