Doxim's New Technical Product Owner (Quickbase)
Doxim is seeking a Product Owner to design, build, integrate, deploy, and support enterprise workflow applications on the Quickbase platform. The immediate priority is to accelerate development of Doxim’s operational applications while establishing a scalable, secure, and auditable technical foundation for broader enterprise deployment. This role requires deep, practical Quickbase development experience, including relational application architecture, complex formulas, role-based permissions, Pipelines, APIs, webhooks, and integration troubleshooting. The successful candidate must be capable of translating documented operational requirements into production-ready solutions, not solely coordinating projects or managing external developers.
Working with Doxim’s enterprise transformation leadership, business stakeholders, and IT, this individual will refine requirements, estimate development effort, execute prioritized development, document solutions, and supports controlled releases. As the Quickbase environment matures, the role may expand into greater responsibility for the product backlog, platform governance, and technical leadership of additional development resources.
Responsibilities
Application Development & Technical Delivery
- Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain production-ready Quickbase applications that support operational, financial, and customer-facing workflows.
- Develop complex relational data models, formulas, automations, forms, reports, dashboards, and role-based user experiences.
- Build, monitor, and troubleshoot Quickbase Pipelines, REST API integrations, webhooks, and JSON-based data exchanges.
- Convert approved process maps, requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria into scalable technical solutions.
- Diagnose defects, data-integrity issues, integration failures, and performance problems and implement sustainable corrections.
- Produce realistic development estimates, identify dependencies, and communicate technical risks and delivery constraints early.
- Apply disciplined development, testing, release, and rollback practices appropriate for business-critical applications.
Technical Architecture & Integration
- Help define and maintain scalable Quickbase application architecture, including data models, table relationships, permissions, naming conventions, and cross-application standards.
- Integrate Quickbase with Doxim systems such as Ironsides, ERP, billing, operational tracking, and other enterprise platforms.
- Collaborate with IT to ensure integrations and applications meet Doxim’s cybersecurity, data governance, access-control, auditability, and data-residency requirements.
- Identify technical debt and recommend when existing applications or workflows should be enhanced, consolidated, rationalized, or rebuilt.
- Support the controlled retirement of redundant spreadsheets, manual data bridges, shadow tools, and legacy middleware without disrupting active operations.
Technical Product Leadership & Delivery Coordination
- Work with designated business and transformation leaders to convert enterprise priorities into an actionable technical backlog.
- Participate in workflow discovery and challenge requirements that introduce unnecessary complexity, control gaps, or technical risk.
- Help sequence releases based on business value, operational readiness, technical dependencies, development effort, and risk.
- Demonstrate completed functionality to stakeholders, facilitate structured acceptance testing, and incorporate approved feedback.
- Maintain transparent status, issue, decision, and dependency reporting for business and technical leadership.
- Over time, assume increased responsibility for technical backlog management, platform standards, and coordination of additional development resources.
Platform Administration, Documentation & Support
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, data dictionaries, integration specifications, release records, runbooks, and support procedures.
- Support user provisioning, role administration, application registry maintenance, and platform health reviews in coordination with IT.
- Monitor relevant Quickbase releases and evaluate new capabilities, regression risk, and adoption requirements.
- Provide advanced issue resolution and develop repeatable support practices for business-critical workflows.
- Contribute technical content to training and onboarding materials; partner with business process owners on end-user adoption.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with leaders and subject-matter experts across Operations, Finance, Customer Success, Data Processing, and IT to understand needs and translate them into practical solutions.
- Communicate technical decisions, tradeoffs, progress, and risks clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Promote process standardization, data integrity, auditability, and reuse of common platform capabilities across Doxim.
Success Measures – First 12 Months
- Priority Quickbase applications delivered against an approved roadmap and agreed release commitments.
- Production releases meet documented acceptance criteria, security requirements, and data-integrity expectations.
- Critical integrations are documented and supported by appropriate monitoring, error handling, and recovery procedures.
- Measurable reduction in application defects, manual workarounds, and recurring data-integrity exceptions within deployed workflows.
- Development standards, documentation practices, testing controls, and release procedures are established and consistently applied.
- Enterprise application architecture is prepared to support additional developers and broader organizational deployment.
- Business adoption targets are defined and measured jointly with business process owners for each deployed application.
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex application, integration, and data issues.
- Ability to translate business needs into clear requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and practical technical solutions.
- Strong planning and prioritization skills, including estimating development effort, managing competing priorities, and identifying dependencies and risks.
- Clear written and verbal communication, including explaining technical decisions and tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence across functions without direct authority.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound technical judgment, and take ownership from design through deployment and ongoing support.
- Understanding of product lifecycle and agile delivery practices, with a focus on usability, business value, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Five or more years of hands-on Quickbase application development and administration experience.
- Demonstrated experience independently designing and building complex Quickbase applications, including multi-table relational data models, formulas, automations, reports, dashboards, and role-based permis
