Plant Manger - Fort Wayne, IN
The Plant Manager is responsible for leading all day-to-day operations at our Fort Wayne facility, including chemical handling and packaging, warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, production planning, maintenance, inventory control, quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. This role drives operational excellence, continuous improvement, employee development, and site performance while ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop salaried and hourly employees through performance management, training, goal setting, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Oversee all day-to-day plant operations, including production, chemical handling and packaging, shipping and receiving, warehousing, maintenance, scheduling, and inventory management.
- Ensure compliance with all environmental, health & safety (EH&S), quality, regulatory, and company standards, including OSHA, EPA, DOT, DHS, and other applicable requirements.
- Partner with internal teams and regulatory agencies to support audits, inspections, certifications, reporting, emergency response planning, and continuous compliance efforts.
- Develop and maintain a strong safety culture while driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, and operational performance.
- Monitor operational KPIs, support quality initiatives, review new products and processes, and identify opportunities for efficiency and process improvements.
- Lead capital projects, plant expansions, facility improvements, site planning activities, and cross-functional business initiatives.
- Develop, manage, and monitor operating and capital budgets, including cost control, expense management, and savings initiatives.
- Support HR, Quality, and EH&S management systems and ensure effective communication of company policies, programs, and organizational updates

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Chemistry, Operations Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience in chemical distribution, chemical manufacturing, or industrial operations leadership may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Proven progressive leadership experience managing salaried and hourly employees, supervisors, warehouse personnel and operational staff
- Demonstrated experience managing operating budgets, capital expenditure projects
- Experience within DOT, OSHA, EPA and hazardous materials regulatory environment

Work Schedule
- Business Hours- Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
- Regular and Consistent Attendance, After Hours/Weekends- as needed
- Available by text / phone / email at all hours
- Out-Of-Town- trips to suppliers, customers, trainings, conferences etc. as needed
