Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Maintain a high level of guest satisfaction by overseeing the front desk activities.
- Evaluate the performance of front-desk team members while hiring, training, encouraging teamwork, and setting high customer service standards.
- Ensure all Wyndham Garden franchise requirements for customer service are met and communicated to team members.
- Increase occupancy and profitability by developing and promoting hotel services and amenities through up-selling strategies.
- Serves as second-in-command, assuming the General Manager's responsibilities when unavailable, but must coordinate decisions with the General Manager when circumstances permit.
- Establish and maintain standards for personnel performance and customer service.
- Review work procedures and operational problems to determine ways to improve service, performance, and/or safety.
- Schedule staff hours and assign duties.
- Meet regularly with the Hotel General Manager, other department supervisors, and the guest services team to ensure consistent communication regarding all aspects of the hotel environment.
- Available to assist with the food & beverage dept sales when needed.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends regularly.
- Able to assist with Hotel and other Tribal events, including setup, cleanup, etc.
- Must maintain strict confidentiality during and after employment.
- Must maintain professional behavior with positive representation of the Tribe and Hotel while on and off the clock.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have at least:
- An Associate's Degree in a related field, and at least two (2) years of experience in a related field; or
- High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of experience in a related field;
- At least three (2) years of experience as a guest services supervisor or related supervisory position;
- Must have previous experience working in the hospitality industry;
- Understands how to communicate (written and orally), negotiate, and network effectively (strong interpersonal communication skills);• Good organization and time management skills;
- Ability to read and understand financial documents (budgets, invoices, etc…);
- Experience in fiscal management and budgeting;
- Knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook;
- Must have the ability to resolve problems diplomatically and tactfully; and
- Must have a valid driver’s license, be insured, and own transportation.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. The employee is also regularly required to stand, walk, sit, lift up to 25 lbs. and use their hands and fingers, so as to handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The Employee is also required to stand and move through all areas of the Hotel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an Employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must be able to work in an environment where a high degree of concentration is necessary to perform job duties.
