Mall Security Officer
Key Responsibilities- Patrol the mall, parking lots, and surrounding property on foot or in a vehicle.
- Monitor for theft, vandalism, trespassing, and suspicious activity.
- Respond to emergencies, disturbances, medical incidents, and customer service requests.
- Enforce mall policies, including youth supervision and safety procedures.
- Prepare detailed incident and activity reports.
- Coordinate with local law enforcement, fire departments, and EMS when necessary.
- Monitor CCTV cameras and security systems.
- Assist shoppers with directions, escorts, lost children, vehicle assistance, and other customer service needs.
- Conduct opening and closing security checks of entrances and common areas.
Qualifications- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Driver's License for Driving Posts
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to remain calm during emergencies.
- Basic computer and report-writing skills.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Prior security, military, law enforcement, or customer service experience is helpful but often not required.
Typical Work Environment- Large indoor retail mall with over 200 stores and entertainment venues.
- High public interaction with shoppers and tourists.
- Shifts may include days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight coverage
