Responsibilities
The primary goal of this role is to enhance the Tech Modernisation Framework by leveraging AI to transition legacy code to current technology stacks, ensuring efficient workflow and automation.
Main Responsibilities:
- Collaborate in designing agent workflows for code migration.
- Improve tooling and processes that facilitate migrations from legacy systems.
- Integrate migration tools with CI/CD and deployment platforms (e.g., Tekton, ArgoCD, Ansible).
- Work directly with application teams to create reliable automation for real migration cases.
- Engage in hands-on programming, particularly with AI coding tools.
Key Requirements:
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles including Git, code review, and testing.
- Familiarity with CI/CD processes and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience or keen interest in LLMs and AI-assisted coding.
- Ability to read and understand various programming languages, including legacy ones (e.g., Java).
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills, comfortable working amidst uncertainty.
- Effective communication skills in English and a collaborative work attitude.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Tekton, ArgoCD or similar GitOps tools.
- Knowledge of Ansible or similar infrastructure as code tools.
- Familiarity with agentic coding tools and frameworks.
- Understanding of LLM evaluation and context engineering.
- Background in legacy modernization, code migration, or large-scale refactoring projects.
- Experience with Java/Spring or other frontend technologies.
- Familiarity with regulated or enterprise environments, especially in finance.
